A Hundred Thousand Tender Hours opens on October 20th at the JKC Gallery and runs through December 14th, with an opening reception taking place in the Gallery on Friday, November 20th from 5-8 pm. This new exhibit, from artist Stephanie Schwiederek, presents photographs that trace the ongoing documentation of her mother, Anna.
For years, Schwiederek referred to her mother as her muse, but that description only tells part of the story. What began as a record of her mother and her space gradually became a deeper confrontation with the complex relationship between mother and child.
Based in New Jersey, Stephanie Schwiederek is an Adjunct Professor in the Photography Technology program in the Design & Media Studies Department at the County College of Morris and in the Photography program in the Fine Arts Department at Sussex County Community College.
